Achieving global net zero goals requires more ambitious carbon projects to be developed and deployed worldwide. To scale meaningful climate impact, a greater number of early-stage and emerging projects must be brought forward.
Financing is critical to enabling this transition. However, over the past decade, while existing global carbon credit markets have expanded rapidly, most market infrastructure has focused on carbon credit exchanges and trading platforms. Financing services for early-stage projects remain relatively limited. As a result, many promising new projects struggle to secure the capital they need to launch and scale before carbon credits are issued.
This structural gap highlights a fundamental challenge in today’s carbon markets. Bridging early-stage project development with accessible, scalable, and well-structured capital is increasingly urgent.
GovernClimate is a carbon finance firm supporting early-stage carbon credit projects worldwide, with a particular focus on carbon removal projects using approaches such as afforestation and reforestation (ARR), biochar, direct air capture (DAC), enhanced rock weathering (ERW), and soil carbon sequestration (SCS).
Through the SupportAction financing platform, GovernClimate helps project developers access the financing required to scale. In parallel, we also helps them connect with corporate buyers and secure long-term demand through offtake agreements.
GovernClimate also brings an extensive corporate network of potential buyers, developed through our past work providing carbon accounting and net-zero consulting services to clients across Taiwan, East Asia, and Southeast Asia. This enables GovernClimate to connect early-stage carbon credit project developers with corporations that may have long-term demand for high-quality carbon removal credits.
